Thirteen companies from North Cyprus are participating in Dubai Gulfood Food Fair by arrangement of the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Industry (KTSO).
According to a statement from the Chamber of Industry, Gulfood, one of the largest food fairs in the world, showing the newest and best products in the global food industry, opened on Sunday and will run until 22 February.
The North Cyprus stand is displaying hellim, fresh kashar, porcupine cheese, lavender, ice cream, tahin, tahin helvası varieties, Turkish coffee, espresso, core coffee varieties, frozen bakery products, Turkish delight, a variety of liqueurs and olive oil.
KTSO Chairman Candan Avunduk said that North Cyprus first participated in the fair in 2007. By doing so, the country has achieved tremendous commercial growth, he noted.
The chairman said he believed that traders will come back with new business connections. “Despite the embargo by 28 European Union countries, Turkish Cypriot industrialists have been trying to enter world trade for years. We have succeeded in this endeavour”, he said.
There are 4,229 firms from 125 countries participating this year in the 1 million square meter indoor exhibition hall, which is located in Dubai World Trade Centre complex.
Fuara said that the 13 companies participating from the TRNC are as follows:
Akgöl Dairy Products Industry, Avunduk Dairy Products Industry (Meriç) Bağlarbaşı Trading Ltd., Defne Helva, Gircon Ltd (Girne Con Coffee), Gülgün Dairy Products Ltd., Helvasan Ltd, Koop Milk, Marshall Ice Cream Ltd. (Mardo), Onan Frozen Food Ltd (Maestro), Özlem Akay Dairy Products, Ecein Sanayi Ticaret LTD. (Petek Pastry), Reha Dairy Products .
