Pro-reunification activists met again to form another human chain on Saturday morning across the Lokmaci border crossing on Ledra Street.
Many Cypriot communities, peace-loving people, workers, intellectuals, activists, from 7 to 77, who arrived to show their determination to resolve the Cyprus problem, formed a human chain.
From the south of Cyprus to the north, people crossing the barricades gave a message of peace with songs, dances and slogans, calling on the community leaders for a solution.
The peaceful demonstration, initiated by Unite Cyprus Now volunteers is growing a little more each day, with more people taking part.
The following message was posted: #UniteCyprusNow believes that the current negotiations process is an historic opportunity for the Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci and the Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Anastasiades to demonstrate the political will and courage to reach the final solution. We hope that the joint leadership of the [community] leaders and the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in New York on June 4th is an important step in this direction. Unite Cyprus Now!
