Turkish nationals in TRNC less keen on change in Turkey’s constitution

The proposed change over to a presidential system in Turkey was clearly less popular with Turkish nationals residing in the TRNC.

The results of the vote in the TRNC for the Turkish referendum are ‘Yes’ 44.9%, ‘No’ 55.1%

Those eligible to vote in the TRNC had five days to submit their votes in the referendum to change Turkey’s parliamentary system to an executive presidency.

On April 10, 42 sacks of votes were delivered for counting.

In Turkey the referendum was voted in by a narrow margin of 51.4% in favour and 48.6% against.
