Turkey’s First Drillship Leaves Port for Antalya

Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Berat Albayrak attended a ceremony on Thursday prior to the departure of Turkey’s first drillship.

Formerly called the ‘DeepSea Metro 2’, the drilling vessel, now renamed ‘Fatih’ was at the port of Dilovası, in Izmir.

Energy Minister Albayrak said the ship would be carrying out its first drill at a depth of 2600 metres offshore Antalya.

The new drillship is expected to reach Antalya on June 3.
