Turk-Sen, the umbrella union for all public service workers, has rejected the economic package signed by Prime Minister Kucuk.
Yesterday, the head of the union, Arslan Bicakli, came out with a written statement condemning the package.
The statement says that the package signed between the TRNC and Turkey will destroy the institutions and people of North Cyprus. It declares that the government party (UBP) does not have the power to represent the people of TRNC on its own.
Bicakli then called on all member unions and other organisations to protest against the package with all their authority. This includes indefinite strikes.
He concluded by calling on the government to resign immediately.
