The TRNC Highway master plan (2012-2020) aims to construct 400km of roads, Turkish Minister of Transportation and Maritime Affairs Ahmet Arslan has said.
Minister Arslan met with the TRNC Minister of Transport and Public Works Tolga Atakan and his delegation in Ankara. He said that during their discussions on investment in TRNC transportation, it was agreed that 70 million TL would be ring-fenced this year for the progression of the road transport master plan.
He added that the total cost of the whole project would amount to 396 million TL. So far, 122 million TL has been spent on road building, with the construction of 255km of roads.
During the meeting, Atakan thanked Turkey for its aid and cooperation. He added that a number of projects had been signed with Turkey. Work to launch the e-state plan continued, he noted.
