TRNC representative in Strasburg, Erdal Ozcenk asked a question regarding the all encompassing embargoes imposed on the Turkish Cypriots.
The UBP deputy who attended the autumn plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), posed a question to the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjorn Jagland.
His question was: “What does the Council of Europe consider doing concerning the political, economic, cultural and sport embargoes imposed the Turkish Cypriot people?”
The statement by the TRNC’s representative said that Jagland, in his response, avoided the reference about “isolation” and his response was as follows: “What could be done? What could be done is to reach a solution on the Cyprus problem. I was disappointed about the collapse of the talks. I hope that the negotiations will be revived in order for a solution to be found”.
