An Indian national, suspected of being connected to a murder in South Cyprus has been handed over to the police in the south by the Turkish Cypriot authorities.
Malkit Singh (26) was arrested while he attempted to cross the border into the TRNC. After appearing at a military court, he was imprisoned for 40 days.
Singh is suspected of involvement in a murder after a 25-year-old man was stabbed to death and a 44-year-old woman received stab wounds on 28 August.
The pair, who were foreign nationals, were attacked in their apartment at around 4am by a man with a knife. The attacker stabbed them both and then ran from the scene.
They were rushed to hospital where later on, the man died of his injuries at around 6.20am.
Singh was handed over at 11am at the Ledra Palace crossing in Nicosia.
