Tourist numbers in the TRNC have increased by 30% compared with last year, Tourism and Environment Minister, Fikri Ataoglu told BRT. He added that they needed 30 buses daily, in order for the tourists to be able to tour North Cyprus.
Saying that he was pleased about the additional number of visitors to the country, Ataoglu went on and stressed the need for an increase in the number of beds and hotels as well, since these will not be sufficient due to the campaign they have launched to attract more tourists into the country.
Meanwhile, Turkish Cypriot daily ‘Diyalog’ reports that there is an increase of rental cars in the TRNC.
According to the paper, in the first four months of 2017, 300 new permits were granted for rental cars and 800 permits in 2016.
