Seven suspects accused of the abduction and murder of Kennedy T Dede were remanded in custody for a further seven days.
The body of the Nigerian student was discover at Canakkale Pond, Famagusta, his injuries showed that he had been beaten to death.
Relatives of the suspects and friends of the murdered student attended the court hearing. Outside court, police took intensive security measures.
Some relatives of the suspects, were unable to hold their tears as they were taken to prison. An alleged suspect fainted.
It emerged earlier that Dede had been dealing drugs and had been sending money to his family in Nigeria. However, because he was unable to pay his suppliers the TL600 that he owed, he paid with his life instead.
