An earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richer Scale shook parts of western Cyprus on Tuesday afternoon. The quake was felt mainly in the Limassol district.
The quake’s epicentre was the mountainous area of Limassol district, 20 kms north of the city, with a 15 km depth. It was felt throughout Limassol district, a statement by the Geological Survey Department said this evening.
Seismic activity continues in the same region and by 2015 a total of 13 tremors were registered, it added.
No reports of damage or injuries have been received.
