Jars of ‘Şah Bal’ honey are being removed from supermarket shelves by order of the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
The ministry, in a written statement, said that the honey was “fake” and it was no longer permitted to sell that brand.
Following the analysis by the Veterinary Office of the domestically produced honey, ‘Şah Bal’ products were found to contain “inappropriate and manufactured” ingredients.
The decision was made to collect and destroy all Şah brand honey products.
Since Şah brand products were produced in breach of current legislation, honey production, packaging and marketing activities were also suspended for one year and legal proceedings against the producer have been initiated, the statement read.
