A ‘Retrospective Exhibition of Turkish Painters’ exhibition, organised by the Near East Bank, will be opened by Speaker of the Assembly Sibel Siber at Near East University.
The university’s press office issued a statement saying that the retrospective exhibition will be composed of 18 works, and will be opened to art lovers at the Near East University Hospital Exhibition Hall on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 11:00. The exhibition will remain open until February 23, 2018.
The exhibition, which covers the period that can be considered to be the first and the second generation of modern Turkish Cypriot painters, is composed of the following works by: Olga Rauf, İsmet Vahit Güney, Cevdet Çağdaş, Ayhan Menteş, Ali Atakan, Göral Özkan, İnci Kansu, Salih Oral, Günay Güzelgün, Gönen Atakan, Özden Selenge, İsmet Tatar, Emel Samioğlu, Emin Çizenel, Güner Pir, Türksal İnce, Feridun Işıman and Hikmet Uluçam.
Curator of the exhibition Mustafa Hastürk said that the aim of the retrospective was to ensure that Turkish Cypriot art is not forgotten.
