Farmers are holding their sixth day of action by marching to the TRNC Assembly building to protest.
Complaining about the rising cost of wheat, milk, water and fuel, they are currently in deadlock with the coalition government.
Head of the Turkish Cypriot Livestock Breeders’ Association Mustafa Naimoğulları, warned the government, “Do not play with the producer’s livelihood and their future. Our demand is clear”, he said.
Police have blocked their access to Nicosia to stop the farmers leaving their farm trucks and tractors outside the Assembly building.
Naimoğulları, said they will evaluate the outcome of their actions on November 15th.
