President Mustafa Akıncı is Ankara for consultations with Turkish officials ahead of the conference on Cyprus set to take place in the Swiss resort of Crans-Montana next week.
Akıncı was accompanied by the Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Tuğrul Türkeş who was in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus for a series of meetings.
President Akıncı will meet with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Istanbul tomorrow.
He met with the Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım and the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu earlier today.
Speaking at Ercan airport, President Akıncı reminded that an important process was awaiting them in Switzerland.
“I have frequently stated that this is the last phase. This is a view shared by the UN, the US Vice President and other circles. All countries and organisations who have an interest in the Cyprus Problem are expecting an outcome,” he said.
