According to the police press office, a total of 5,420 vehicles were checked on the roadside by the police between September 4th and 10th.
Of these, 696 of these drivers had broken the law. The main offence was speeding (215), 16 were stopped for dangerous driving, 26 for careless driving, 28 people were driving without a license, 6 were driving without permission of the owner of the vehicle, 32 driving while over the alcohol limit. Three were driving without the appropriate licence to drive a heavy vehicle. There were four motorcyclist riding without using a helmet. The remainder were guilty of minor traffic violations.
