Petitions raised against TRNC tourism adverts

North Cyprus tourism adverts in the UK have triggered Greek Cypriot organisations to raise the usual objections. The TRNC Ministry of Tourism issued a statement which said that it sees that intense negotiations on the Cyprus problem continue. It notes with regret, however, that there is no change of mentality on the Greek Cypriot side, as it cannot even tolerate promotional advertisement for tourism in North Cyprus. The ministry would continue to monitor events, the statement concluded.

North Cyprus tourism adverts have been place in the cities of London, Manchester and their airports and also at Luton airport. This has prompted Greek Cypriot groups to send petitions to the British Foreign Ministry and other authorities, to have the adverts removed.
