Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ozersay received the new British High Commissioner to South Cyprus Stephen Lillie.
The Cyprus problem, Brexit, regional issues and bilateral relations were discussed at the meeting held at the TRNC Foreign Ministry.
Speaking during the visit, Foreign Minister Ozersay congratulated Lillie on his appointment and wished him success in his duties.
He also expressed the hope that the good dialogue and relations established with his predecessor Matthew Kidd will continue in the period ahead.
Drawing attention to the fact that the UK has both historical and legal obligations in Cyprus as one of the three guarantor countries on the island, Özersay said that the UK’s representation in Cyprus was different from that of other foreign missions.
