Turkish Cypriot Negotiator Kudret Özersay, commenting on yesterday’s meeting between Presidents Eroğlu and Anastasiades, emphasised that both indicated that the “real negotiations” have now begun, ‘Kibris Postasi’ reports.
Özersay stated that a new mutual understanding had emerged, adding that during the negotiations, the main principles of the joint declaration prepared in February had been discussed.
He noted that during the meeting, the structure and outlook of the bi-zonal, bi-communal federation was discussed as a sub-heading.
“How the president is going to be elected is a serious political choice. What kind of a system would work best in this country if a shared state was created,” all these issues were discussed during yesterday’s meeting said Özersay and added that land and guarantees were also among the topics that were discussed.
