Turkish Cypriot Prime Minister Özkan Yorgancıoğlu officially announced that there will be a changeover in the government and that CTP-BG MP Ömer Kalyoncu (R) will take over the role of Prime Minister in the new cabinet.
Yorgancıoğlu was speaking on TV when he briefed the public on the government’s three months action report.
The outgoing premier said that his government succeeded to balance the budget for the first time where local income met local expenditures adding that his government had managed to pay six months wages without getting any additional monies from Turkey.
Yorgancıoğlu also said that his government was the first in many years to make parliament function more efficiently. He said with 113 pieces of legislation passed in 22 months, the majority of laws, legal changes and amendments were made during his time government.
