The chief negotiators in the Cyprus talks, Ozdil Nami and Andreas Mavroyiannis held a day-long meeting on Monday.
President Akinci’s spokesman Baris Burcu told TAK news agency that the negotiators had created a scenario for the property issue and decided to examine this again after both sides had given their evaluation.
Burcu noted that property was not the only issue discussed. He said that Erhan Ercin, undersecretary at the foreign ministry and head of the EU working group, held “fruitful discussions” on the issue of agriculture together with EU representatives.
Some members of the committee which will be formed to create future federal laws also met yesterday and exchanged views on a working programme. Burcu said that this was a preparatory meeting in anticipation of sufficient progress in the negotiations signalling the need to write up federal laws.
