Classical musician and Honorary Representative for TRNC cultural affairs in Germany, Turgay Hilmi, has announced on his Facebook page that he has decided to take action at the Nicosia Environment Office on Tuesday because of the lack of official response to the noise caused by the discos held at the Lord’s Palace Hotel in Girne.
In an ongoing battle against the noise from the hotel’s disco – he organised a demonstration in front of the hotel last month.
Hilmi’s social media post is as follows:
“I will take action on my own in front of the Nicosia Environment Office at 10.30 am on Tuesday morning (September 5) because no measures were taken against noise pollution. Citizens who are disturbed by noise pollution can join me.”
