We all use muhtars to fill in various forms required for living in the TRNC. Now and again we complain about the service we get, or the cost of the forms.
Now it is the turn of the muhtars to complain.
The head of the Muhtars Association, Huseyin Barbet, says that most muhtars get about half the minimum wage but that they have not been paid for the past two months.
Mr Barbet says that there are 239 muhtars waiting for their rights and that they have been waiting for 5 months for changes in legislation that would improve their ability to give good service to the public.
