Work to remove mines continues in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
The Security Forces Command issued a statement regarding mine field clearing efforts in the Alayköy region.
According to the statement released by the Command’s Press Bureau, mines that were very close to the buffer zone and mines that posed a danger because of flood waters, have all been cleared away.
The mine clearing work which began on 20 September was successfully completed by 27 October.
The mine field in the Alayköy region has been completely cleared of all mines the statement said.
