Local Elections Set For 24 June

The date for the TRNC local elections has been set for 24 June, according to a decision taken by the Cabinet last week.

The decision has been published in the official gazette.

The draft resolution that has been handed down by the Council of Ministers will be taken up at the plenary session of parliament. Once parliament approves, the draft resolution it will come into effect.

Meanwhile the election bans will come into force on Tuesday 15 May.
