No obstacle remains for the construction of the new terminal building at Ercan Airport, Turkish Cypriot daily ‘Yeni Duzen’ reports.
While the preparation of projects for the construction of the new terminal continue, part of the Turkish army’s regiment which was in posted at Ercan, has been relocated to the military area in Beykoy.
Suat Yeldener, Undersecretary for the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, told the paper that the projects for the construction of the new building had been submitted and are being examined at the moment. He said that after seeing whether they are in line with the contract, construction will begin, adding that no obstacle was left.
Yeldener noted that together with the terminal building, other projects were being examined including a landing strip, an apron, a pick up spot for taxis, a tunnel and the stream bed.
