Lack of funding is delaying the supply of water from Turkey to all parts of the TRNC, Minister of Agriculture Nazim Cavusoglu has said.
The minister, was visiting the Karpaz village of Yesilkoy, was asked why the water from Turkey had not reached all regions yet. Cavusoglu explained that 200 square metres of pipeline were required to complete distribution. “The TRNC government does not have any money at all to install piping”, he said.
Cavusoglu told ‘Diyalog’ newspaper that the problem will be solved as soon as the money to complete the water distribution project is found. The government then will be able open tenders for the installation of the pipelines, he said.
