President Eroglu speaking in an interview on television earlier yesterday, was questioned about the former Prime Minister, Irsen Kucuk who is facing a committee enquiry over party spending and debts left behind. The president replied that in politics, “you reap what you sow” Adding that he felt that that was the reason that Kucuk had lost his parliamentary seat.
He also said that he was still a member of the UBP and would remain a member while the constitution permitted it. (There have been reports of many changes to come in the constitution).
Questioned on the Cyprus problem, the president said that Cypriots on both sides would not wait a further 50 years for a solution.
