Kyrenia Amateur Dramatic Society (KADS) presented a donation of 2,435TL to SOS Children’s Village.
In the presentation ceremony at Girne Municipality, on Wednesday 29th July, 2015, KADS also presented Kyrenia Animal Rescue (KAR) chairman Margaret Ray (inset photo) with funds, which were raised from the ‘Absolute KADS & Bounders’ Variety Show in May.
During the ceremony at Girne Mayor Nidai Güngördü’s office, KADS Chairman Stephen Everett presented a total of 4,870TL to the two charities’ officials. The ceremony also marked KADS’s 40th anniversary and Mr Everett presented a commemorative bonsai tree to the Mayor, in appreciation of Girne Municipality’s support to KADS.
SOS Children’s Village Programme Manager Ahmet Akarsu presented a special plaque of appreciation to KADS Chairman Stephen Everett (main photo), in recognition of KADS’s 40 years of service to the community and for their loyal support to SOS Children’s Village.
In his speech, Ahmet Akarsu also thanked the Mayor and Girne Municipality for sponsoring KADS and enabling the funds to be raised for the charity.
He continued: “Each year KADS donates proceeds from its productions to SOS Children’s Village, which goes towards meeting the needs of children getting family based care under our programmes”.
“I congratulate KADS on their 40th anniversary and thank them once again for their support.”
KADS chairman Stephen Everett said he was happy to support the two charities and said the donations will continue.
