The Justice for Turkish Cypriots Platform has sent British Prime Minister Theresa May a letter outlining the expectations of the Turkish Cypriot people from the United Kingdom following the collapse of the Cyprus talks.
Spokesman for the platform Ersu Ekrem and the platform’s UK representative Chet Ramadan delivered the letter to No. 10 Downing Street.
Speaking about the letter, the platform spokesman Ekrem said that the embargoes and isolation imposed on the Turkish Cypriots could no longer be tolerated.
He added that they had conveyed to the British Prime Minister the platform’s demands that any negotiations to be conducted from this point onwards should be on the basis of a two-state solution.
The letter also conveyed the expectation that Britain, which is one of the island’s three guarantor powers, should ensure the equal and just treatment of Turkish Cypriots.
