Deputy for the National Unity Party (UBP) and deputy speaker of the TRNC Assembly Zorlu Tore has said that it is not right for the Immovable Property Commission (IPC) to return property to the Greek Cypriots. He said that the relevant law should be amended.
“When the Greek Cypriots expropriate Turkish Cypriot properties in the south and keep the properties which have not been expropriated under guardianship, it is wrong for the Turkish Cypriot side to return properties to Greek Cypriots by law. We must put an end to practices which present Turkey, the Turkish army and the TRNC as guilty and occupiers. The immovable property law must either be amended or its duration must not be renewed. The property issue must be handled with global exchange and compensations”.
