President Dervis Eroglu sent condolences to President Erdogan and Prime Minister Gul yesterday.
On Saturday, a Turkish Army helicopter crashed in Sirt province in south eastern Turkey killing all 17 soldiers on board. The soldiers were being transported to the Pervari province where operations to counter Kurdish rebels has been underway for three days.

In October 1 solider was killed and others wounded when a similar Sikorsky helicopter crashed in the Diyarbakir region after it hit power lines.
