Greek Jets Violate TRNC Air Space

Three Greek F-16 jet fighters took part in a National Guard exercise on Thursday at Kalo Chorio firing range in Larnaca.

The jets were taking part in the Greek Cypriot National Guards joint military exercise.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Kudret Ozersay, said on social media, that the warplanes had left Crete and flown, at low level, over Akincilar village violating TRNC air space. The warplanes shortly returned to Crete, he said.

Ozersay said that his office had filed a protest with the UN regarding the violation. He also said that they needed assurances that everyone will be responsible, noting that such approaches could jeopardise stability in the region.
