GIFA Holdings has applied to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and the Civil Aviation Authority to establish a domestic airline company.
The application was made to the ministry by Timur Özkibar on behalf of GIFA Airways and Tourism Company.
He told Turkish Cypriot daily ‘Yeni Bakis’ that he hoped to have a positive response as soon as possible.
“We, as GIFA Holdings, requested the establishment of a domestic airline on the orders of GIFA Holdings Chairman Yusuf Bent yesterday. The lack of a domestic airline is the biggest deficiency of this country after CTA was shut down. Now the ball is in the Ministry’s and the Civil Aviation Department’s court and we hope to get a positive response to our proposal as soon as possible”, Özkibar stated.
