Greek Cypriot Missing in North Feared Murdered

The investigation into case of the Greek Cypriot man who was reported missing by his family last week continues.

Solomos Apostolides who was a frequent visitor to the TRNC and to the casino crossed into the North at the Bostanci border crossing last Wednesday. His car, was discovered in Alsancak on Saturday. The police contacted the missing man’s family who provided them with a spare car key. Inside the car they discovered Apostolides’ passport, identity card and cash.

Apostolides regularly met with a man aged 35 years named Erdinc Senturk. They were last seen at a casino in Kyrenia. Police searched Senturk’s house who had, since then, reportedly left for Turkey.

Police now fear that Mr. Apostolides may have been murdered.
