President Eroglu met the UN Secretary-General’s Special Adviser on Cyprus, Alexander Downer for an hour, earlier today.
Afterwards at a press conference, Downer confirmed that the dinner date of May 30th was firm, although it had been changed a few times. He added that he hoped that the two presidents and their wives would enjoy the dinner and have a good time.
When asked what he expected from the dinner, Downer replied that he was hoping for a meal large enough to see him through to breakfast.
Earlier, Downer had met Greek Cypriot President Anastasiades who stressed that he would not be continuing the talks from where they had last been left. The Greek Cypriot position will be defined anew and will not be tainted by any statements or expectations by Mr Downer, he added.
