Union leader of EL-SEN, Caglayan Cesurer has come out with a statement this morning saying that his union has taken action against the Ministry of Finance for not paying TL 59 million of overdue bills.
Part of that action has been to cut off the electricity supply to all speed cameras in the TRNC and to various councils’ facilities.
Mr Cesurer said that until the Ministry paid its debt, it would remain disconnected. He pointed out that legislation had recently been passed saying that all entities whether private, commercial or state would have their electricity disconnected if they did not pay their bills within a month. Cesurer said that this law had been applied to many organisations today and that many more would also be disconnected.
