UN Secretary-General’s Special Adviser on Cyprus Espen Barth Eide has been making farewell visits in Cyprus.
Eide who will run for the elections in his country, Norway leaves his post today. He visited both leaders this morning for the last time as a Special Adviser.
The UN Envoy was received by President Mustafa Akıncı at 11am this morning.
He also paid a farewell visit to the Greek Cypriot leader Nicos Anastasiades earlier on today.
Meanwhile, Eide will give a farewell reception tonight at the Ledra Palace Hotel in the buffer zone, in Lefkoşa. The two community leaders are expected to attend the event.
President Mustafa Akıncı will also give a farewell reception in honour of Eide at the Presidential Palace in Lefkoşa tomorrow evening.
