UNSG Special Adviser on Cyprus Espen Barth Eide is expected to arrive in Cyprus on Monday.
Eide, on Twitter, welcomed Ozdil Nami who was named as the Turkish Cypriots’ negotiator in the Cyprus talks.
He added that he looked forward to working with him and Greek Cypriot negotiator Andreas Mavroyiannis and President’s Anastasiades and Akinci.
Meanwhile, Greek Cypriot government spokesman Nikos Christodoulides has said that the leader of the Turkish Cypriot community has the choice of selecting the new Turkish Cypriot negotiator and his selection is respected. “We hope that through a sincere and substantive dialogue and with the contribution of Turkey, which is a necessary precondition, prospects that will allow us to be optimistic that the occupation will be terminated and our country will be reunited, will be created,” he added.
