Eco-tourism struggles to survive in Karpas

North Cyprus Eco-tourism is about to “die out” Deputy Chairman of the Eco-Agro Tourism Cooperative, Çoşkun Güngör has said.

Blaming poor management, investors unable to repay loans and going bankrupt and unlicensed cabins being built in the area, he said:

“We have informed all the relevant authorities about the unlicensed eco-tourism in the area but no one is intervening. Although they admit that there should be some action against them they don’t do anything. Every day a new unlicensed bungalow is built in Karpas and no one does anything to stop it”.
