General Secretary of the DP, Bengu Sonya party fired the first shot in the coalition negotiations yesterday.
Mr Sonya says that his party will not accept being fobbed off with a couple of minor ministries.
He is looking for 5 ministries and they are to include some of the heavyweight departments.
This is only the first step in the negotiations but it is demanding half of all the ministries to be allocated to the DP.
The DP hold a key position with their 12 seats in parliament. The other parties are CTP with 21 and UBP with 14.
President Eroglu will this week give the CTP first go at putting together a coalition government and their most likely partner will be the DP.
However the CTP will be asked to pay a high price for those 12 votes.
