The Democrat Party held its 10th ordinary congress on Saturday.
The congress which began at 2pm was held at the Lefkoşa Ataturk Sports Hall.
The DP ordinary congress began with the selection of the chairmanship council, the observance of a minute’s silence and the reciting of the national anthem.
Followed by an opening speech by the leader of the Democrat Party-Deputy Prime Minister Serdar Denktaş, the activities and financial reports readread out and voted on.
The congress continued with the election of the party leader, the party assembly and members of the high disciplinary council.
Current party leader Serdar Denktaş was the only candidate running for the party’s leadership.
