Reflecting the words of Foreign Minister, Ozdil Nami, Prime Minister Ozkan Yorgancioglu stated on BRT radio yesterday that three to four months should be enough time to reach a conclusion to the Cyprus problem.
The PM said that there was renewed interest from international powers to reach a settlement of the decades-long issue.
If all parties came to the negotiating table with good intentions, then he felt that a quick solution could be reached. A rapid solution would also benefit the weak Greek Cypriot economy, he added.
On other topics, Mr Yorgancioglu revealed that the previous UBP government had major expenses which they had left unpaid and that the government was currently reviewing these. He did point out that restaurant expenses had been very high and it was hard to imagine anybody ordering that much food.
