Cypriot negotiators Kudret Ozersay (R) and Andreas Mavroyiannis (L) will meet this morning with the UN team assigned to deal with the Cyprus negotiations.
The task of the negotiators is to formulate an agenda and also to discuss how they will work together when they meet to negotiate.
It was stipulated in the joint statement signed by President Eroglu and President Anastasiades Cypriot that structured negotiations would be approached in a results-oriented manner. In order to get the talks underway, the both presidents have told the negotiators to hold their first meeting this week.
“The negotiations are based on the principle that nothing is agreed until everything is agreed,” the joint statement says.
The UN Secretary General’s good offices team dealing with the talks includes, apart from the UN Secretary General’s Special Representative in Cyprus and Chief of Mission Lisa Buttenheim, Senior Adviser Wlodek Cibor and his team.
