The TRNC’s State Planning Organisation (DPO) has released figures relating to the cost of living in North Cyprus for February.
According to Turkish Cypriot daily ‘Vatan’, the DPO says that the cost of living increased by 2.29% last month.
The highest rise in consumer spending in comparison to January was on food and non-alcoholic beverages at 5.64%, after which came an increase of 2.74% in the cost of household products and home maintenance. Transport was up by 2.63%, the health sector 1.7% and education by 1.11%.
The DPO states that the cost of living, compared to last December has increased by 4.43% and by 14.58% since February 2013.
