There was confusion in the TRNC when computer clocks went forward by one hour to summer time.
Following Turkey’s decision last to not the change bring in daylight saving time for winter, North Cyprus followed suit. However, computers and mobile devices moved their clocks forward, as usual on Sunday.
On Saturday, ‘Kibris Postasi’ published a statement issued by the Baraka Cultural Centre which read:
“We should get rid of this practice, which hurts like a bad joke, taking the clocks forward by one hour ahead of the rest of the world.
We want to emphasise once more, that we do not want to see this practice imposed on our people without our support, just because Ankara has taken the decision..
We do not know if this coalition government will still be in power by the end of the year, but we are warning the government not to take such a decision and not to ignore the imposition it makes on the people.”
