A classic touring car exhibition was held in Famagusta on Sunday. The exhibition organised by the Turkish Cypriot Classic Automobile Association in cooperation with the government’s Anti-Drug Commission, in order to raise funds and awareness of the youth drug problem in the country.
Famagusta Municipality hosted the event at Namik Kemal Square. Art work made by 18 year old students from the Irfan Nadir Rehabilitation Centre was on sale.
The classic cars on show were produced between 1947 and 1980 and attracted a great deal of attention from both tourists and locals.
In addition, a demonstration of folk dancing added to the entertainment. As a mark of gratitude for his contribution to the event, a plaque was presented by the president of the Classic Automobile Association Burçin Aliusta to the Mayor of Famagusta, Ismail Arter.
