Figures published by the central bank for the third quarter of 2017 show that exports from the TRNC increased by 19% in the months July-August-September.
According to the figures, the value of exports within those three months rose to 15.2 million dollars. Imports rose to 127.4 million dollars.
The majority of both imports and exports are trade with Turkey. Turkey holding the biggest share of imports, Turkey’s share of imports up to the end of July reached 60.3%. Also, the total share of imports from EU countries increased by 2.8% points in 2016 while, by the end of July 2017 it has been reduced by 0.9% down to 20%.
