Documents purportedly revealing off-shore bank transactions by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s close family members were provided to the media today by main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) spokesperson Bülent Tezcan.

He noted that the original transactions and documents will be handed over to the prosecutor’s office.

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office on launched an investigation on 30 November into the CHP’s accusations of off-shore accounts held by President Erdogan’s family.

The leader of the CHP Kemal Kilicdaroglu revealed on November 28 that close member family members of Erdogan including his brother, his son and his executive assistant, made transactions worth around $15 million to an off-shore company called Bellway Limited in the tax haven Isle of Man in December 2011 and January 2012.

President Erdogan has denied all accusations and challenged Kilicdaroglu to present proof.
