Independent presidential candidate Mustafa Akıncı has said that a leader who becomes disconnected from the people cannot achieve anything.
“Even though the president spends most of his time on the Cyprus problem, I believe that I can keep my ties with the people strong” said Akıncı. He added that he was working with a wide selection of academics and experts and that anyone who wanted to contribute would be included.
“I would be more than happy to work with anyone who wants to contribute” said Akıncı. He was speaking at a community meeting during his election campaign in the Green Line border village of Beyarmudu.
